Atacama Minerals Corp. was incorporated on June 10, 1987 under the name "Azure River Gold Inc." by filing of a memorandum and articles with the Registrar of Companies under the Company Act (British Columbia).
It subsequently changed its name to TSA Explorations Ltd. on August 25, 1988, to Boron Chemicals International Ltd. on July 6, 1992, and to Atacama Minerals Corp. on July 30, 1997. On August 8, 1997 the Company was continued as a federal corporation under the provisions of the Canada Business Corporations Act ("CBCA").
The Company is a reporting issuer in British Columbia and its common shares have been listed for trading on the TSX Venture Exchange (previously, the Canadian Venture Exchange) since August 8, 1997.
